Frequently Asked Questions

What is your booking fee?

To secure your date, a booking fee of 1/3 of the total cost of your event is due at the time your event is scheduled. This fee is non-refundable if you decide to cancel your event for any reason.

Do we need liability insurance?

The RedBird requires event liability insurance to be purchased in the amount of $1 million per occurrence. This protects you in the case that you are held liable for property damage, bodily injury, or alcohol related accidents. This insurance may be purchased from WedSafe.com or by another insurance agency of your choice.

Why do we need a “day of” wedding planner at the RedBird Wedding and Event Venue?

We only require a “day of” professional wedding planner. You are welcome to plan your entire event on your own. However, we require that your planner provide five very important tasks:

  • Facilitate your rehearsal

  • Create your ceremony and reception timeline

  • Facilitate the wedding day events. Your planner is the “go to” person for all vendors. Your planner is responsible for keeping your wedding on schedule and ensuring that all of your wedding day details go as planned. Your wedding planner is required to be onsite and available for your entire 10-hour block.

  • Help decorate your reception area and ceremony site

  • Make sure the venue is left the way it was found, when everyone has left, to help ensure your damage deposit is returned.

Is this an adults-only venue?

Children are welcome guests at The RedBird; however, all children must be in the company of an adult at all times for safety reasons.

Are you licensed for alcoholic beverages?

The RedBird does not hold an alcohol license. We are a beer and wine facility only and all alcohol is to be served by licensed and insured vendors. See list under Vendors.

What are your music/noise ordinances?

Sound must be kept at a reasonable level during all events. A sound check will be required before each event. RedBird will decide what is a reasonable level. We want to be courteous to our neighbors.

Do you allow smoking?

Although The RedBird is a non-smoking property, a smoking area is provided for our guests. No smoking is allowed in any building or tented area. Due to extreme fire danger, anyone found smoking outside the designated area will be asked to leave the property.

When is our final walk-thru?

A final in-person walk through is required no less than 14 days prior to your event with your wedding/day of coordinator, caterer, and a RedBird representative.

When is our rehearsal?

Rehearsals will be scheduled from 9am - 10am (one hour total) 1 to 2 days prior to your event.

Can we change our date after we book?

Date transfers are considered on a case by case basis and are non-refundable.

Can we bring our own food?

Food must be catered by a licensed professional. The RedBird requires you to provide a list of your chosen vendors with contact information, license information, and insurance information. Pre-events snacks may be brought into the bridal cottage/groom’s yurt, but please provide your own plates, cups, utensils, etc. We will provide garbage cans and liners.

Are there any limitations on our decorations?

Decorations must be approved by The RedBird. Nails, thumbtacks, staples, duct tape, masking tape are not allowed. Ribbon and string work best. Zip ties also work well. Only flameless candles are allowed due to the extreme fire danger.  Bubbles, bird seed and real flower petals (not artificial) are allowed. No sky lanterns, fireworks, or sparklers are allowed.

What about Acts of God?

The RedBird will not be held responsible for Acts of God, including resulting damage to persons or property, or which may result in cancellation. We are an outdoor venue and are not in control of the weather. I talk to the Lord about it for each event but He doesn’t always listen.

How do we handle set-up/tear down?

The RedBird team sets up the event arbor plus the tables and chairs in the barn. All personal items must be removed by the end of the event. Garbage containers will be provided for your convenience. The RedBird team also breaks down the tables and chairs after the event.

Are animals allowed at your venue?

Service dogs are allowed, but need to be kept on a leash. You are responsible for cleaning up after any animals allowed on property.
